Sterling, VA 鈥 December 7, 2016: The AMSA(麻豆原创) recently released the 2016 AMSAScorecard which provided an at-a-glance dashboard of institutional conflict of interest policies at medical schools. The results demonstrated continued improvement in medical school policies throughout the country 鈥 confirming the value in disclosing this important information on a regular cadence.
AMSArecognizes that creating effective policies requires the cooperation and commitment of numerous departments throughout institutions. In an effort to ensure every institution has sufficient time to reflect upon their scores and mobilize a team to strengthen and improve policies, AMSAwill release the Scorecard on a biennial cycle. The next release is scheduled for Spring 2018.
鈥淲e will continue to look at the 14 domains, including industry funding of meals, gifts, scholarships, and faculty speaking engagements,鈥 explained AMSANational President, Dr. Kelly Thibert.听鈥淥ur most recent release showed great improvement from 2014, and we hope to see the same kind of progress in 2018.鈥
